Lunch hours and what to order
Lunch is 12:00 to 4:00 PM on weekdays and runs till 5:30 PM on Saturday and Sunday.
The lunch order at Kund is a thali: veg, chicken, mutton or fish, each with a tandoor starter, tawa vegetables, Dal Makhni, two baby naans or rotis and salad. One plate, no waiting on the rest of the table. See the North Indian thalis.
Dinner in Indiranagar, 7 to 11 PM
Dinner is 7:00 to 11:00 PM every day of the week.
Evenings are for the tandoor and the handi: tandoori chicken, sheek kebabs and malai tikka to start, then Dal Makhni, Chicken Tikka Masala, Mutton Rogan Josh or Paneer Lababdar with butter naan and lacha paratha. Dinner restaurants in Indiranagar don't get older than this
Kund opened in 2003, when Indiranagar had no North Indian restaurant at all. It is still in the same room, run by the same family, cooking the same recipes.
Dr S M Rao opened it for North Indians who missed the food of home; his daughter Suman runs it today. No MSG, no artificial colour, only pure ghee and butter, then and now. How Kund started.

The room seats 45–55, fully air-conditioned, on the ground floor. Families fill it on weekends; offices fill it on weekday afternoons.
